Every so often, I find myself wanting to return to the kind of work that made me fall in love with photography in the first place. Not because anything was missing, but because creativity has a way of asking to be rediscovered. As a Monmouth County photographer, I spend so much time telling other people's stories that I realized I needed a project that reminded me why I picked up a camera all those years ago. This series begins with Hannah and marks the first chapter of what I hope will become an ongoing collection of portraits featuring dancers throughout our area. We created these images in Sea Girt, New Jersey, where movement, light, and the landscape came together naturally. My hope is that each session becomes less about perfect technique and more about creating something honest—photographs that feel timeless, personal, and full of life. In many ways, this project is simply my way of coming home creatively.
